Introduction

 

​Population health and preventive medicine discipline coordinates all programs related to public health and preventive medicine. Presently, the discipline units comprise of epidemiology, biostatistics, health management, occupational safety and health, environmental health, family health and health promotion. ​The discipline is headed by a discipline head and is under the Community Health  Cluster. The discipline aims to provide comprehensive knowledge on health issues in the population and health delivery systems. ​Besides knowledge, the discipline also provide skills to future doctors in disease prevention and health promotion while developing positive attitudes and practices to the future doctors in conducting research.
