The Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree programme is the highest professional degree for individuals focusing on Public Health. This program was started in response to the need of the Ministry of Health (KKM) for competent public health specialist physicians in Malaysia. The program prepares candidates to become experts in public health and enables them to apply and synthesize evidences into public health practice.​

The DrPH programme is a 3-year programme, divided into two parts i.e. Part I (Year 1), Part II (Year 2 and 3). Part I (Year 1) emphasizes academic training. Part II (Year 2 and Year 3) emphasizes on experiential learning, analysis and writing up of the thesis/dissertation.

Entry requirements

1. Possess a recognized medical degree (MBBS or MD or equivalent degree) AND Masters of Public Health (minimum CGPA of 3 or minimum grade B in all subjects ) or equivalent degree

2. Candidates must be fluent in English both oral and written (according to UiTM requirements)
